Some Pictures That Made Me Happy

Hello all!
I was looking for some symbols for a friend of mine last night and stumbled across a couple pictures that I really liked. So, I figured I would pass them along for you!

I don't have anyone to credit these too, so if you by chance know of their original origins, please let me know so I can give proper kudos too.

Happy Oracle Time! x2!

The Lady of the Lake is one I have previously pulled for this blog, so I will give the same info as last time and pull and additional card.

The Lady of the Mirror is both an ally and challenger, regardless of falling upright or reversed. She tells us to see our true reflection in the mirror of our life- seeing what we have become as the product of events in our life. She then reminds us that what we are is what we attract (the law of attraction). This DOES NOT mean that we are to blame our self if we have become the victim of a "big picture event" like war, as certain events are preordained in life, regardless of choices. Rather, see how you have reacted to situations, handled jobs, and be aware of the past and present. Release all judgment and see things only in love. The Lady asks that we honor every aspect of our life, the good and the bad, for without it we would not be who we are today.

Ask yourself, do you love who you see in the mirror? The answer can only be found through an honest self appraisal. If the answer is yes, congratulations on reaching that point in your life! If you say no, make the conscious decision to bring active changes into your life that will let you love the reflection staring back at you. You are responsible for your own life, and therefore you are the only one that can truly change it!

The second card that I pulled was The Cosmos.

This card is always an ally and never a challenger. The Cosmos represents creativity in all forms. When this card makes an appearance, it's telling you to place your attention on creative projects, and to remember that life is creative and you're always co-creating with the divine.
The Cosmos also signifies the principle of infinity and the vastness of the energetic exchange of consciousness that influences all living things. We must be mindful and remember that every thought and intention we have is infectious and has the power to influence others. We are all energetically connected, so we can't help but to be an influence whether we mean to or not!
Open up that well of creativity and be mindful of your thoughts and actions, as all these things influence your outer world. Expect to be inspired and meaningfully touch others with all that you create!

A Memorial

As many of you know, last month I dealt with the death of my grandma (which happened last October). My mom and I, for as strained as both of our relationships with her were, decided to go out and get some "Memorial Inkage". It's amusing because my grandmother was a by the book bible thumper, and would wholly disapprove of either of us marking our body in such an ungodly way (excuse me while I go laugh hysterically), but, at the same time, it is a beautiful and unique expression of something she loved dearly- violets. So grandma, here's to you!

Her Headstone that we ordered. Yup, those are violet's on there!

A New Day, and a New Oracle!

Hello my friends! Today's oracle card is the Sister of the Seasons- Reversed.

When this card comes to us reversed, it's a reminder that there are no shortcuts in life- we can not simply go from Winter to Summer without paying respect to and working with Spring. =) Moving too quickly, looking for short cuts or trying to artificially postpone something will not yield the results that you desire.
All four sisters are to be equally cherished. A wise person will take the time they are given to learn from each, as well as allow nature to take her due course as she sees fit.
Relax, breath deep, enjoy the season, and make the most of it!

A thought on the God and Goddess...

During the weekdays, I wake up to fun little notes from "The Universe" (go to this site for more info- http://www.tut.com/ ).

I got this one the other day, and it's one of those things that makes you stop, think, then smile when you realize the truth behind it.

So, enjoy, and find the divine in your life!

If speaking to a spiritual novice during the darker days of human evolution, Emma, one might explain God, metaphorically, as if "He" were angry, testing, and judgmental.

To someone a bit more savvy, during easier times, one might explain God, metaphorically, as if "She" were always loving, nurturing, and forever conspiring on our behalf.

And to someone on the verge of a total breakthrough, during the latter days of human evolution, one might explain God by asking them to turn up the music, take off their shoes, walk in the grass, unleash the dogs, free the canary, catch a breeze, ride a wave, dance every day, get up early, take a nap, stay out late, eat chocolate, feel the love, give stuff away, earn it back, give some more, and laugh.... Really.

A Truly Beautiful Spring Day Oracle!

Good afternoon everyone!

Today is the first day in quite sometime that has the true look and feel of spring. Yesterday was full of gray clouds, wind, and rain, but now it is warm, sunny with occasional big, puffy clouds, and absolutely gorgeous outside!

Now that I have finally talked myself into taking a break from school work, I have decided that this is also the perfect time to post the Oracle Card for today! Card comes from Wisdom of the Hidden Realms Oracle Cards: A 44-Card Deck and Guidebook by Colette Baron-Reid.

The Swan Queen- Reversed.

When The Swan Queen comes as a challenger (reversed) it is time to stop doubting your inner voice. Don't let your analytical mind stand in the way and prevent you from seeing the miracles right in front of you.
She also reminds us that we need not fear change. Why fear what is inevitable? Especially when fear does nothing but drain us of our own valuable energy. Holding onto the past only distorts and mangles the natural order of things. Do your best to be gentle with yourself, and, in spite of the fear you may feel, what comes forth will be beautiful. Let this create the shift in your perspective that is needed to truly live in the now and flow with the ever changing rhythm of life.

Happy Ostara everyone!

I apologize on the lack of posting yesterday. My circle and I had a Full Moon and Ostara celebration which was family oriented during the afternoon, and resulted in a few people coming back after everyone and their kids had left so that they could make use of the altar and have some quiet ritual time. All in all, it was a very nice day. =) The day was very nice for this time of year too.... It was cool, but sunny and no massive winds to speak of. Today, on the other hand, is grey with some killer winds kicking around out there. Jaelynn is roaming around with her fairy wings on, and as soon as Stephen is done with his homework (and me too for that matter) we have a fun Ostara present to give her (in addition to all the stuff we did/got yesterday!). For a fun kid toy we got her a talking Dora back pack. Yup. A toy that makes noise. *sigh* We'll also go to the home and garden show so we can pick out flowers to celebrate the coming of spring with.

Personally, I always keep my Ostara celebrations light and airy. Element wise, it is an "air" sabbat, as well as colorful in the pastel type way. All those colors that are popular for Easter? Yup, those are totally are colors for Ostara! Symbolically, Ostara is a time of new beginnings, rebirth, fertility, growth, balance, agriculture/planting, love, and communication. Good stones for this time are moonstone, aquamarine, amethyst, rose quartz, and blue lace agate. Plants are blessed thistle, jasmine, rose, lotus, oak, and pretty much all blooming things. Good incense would be scents that are flowery (rose, lavender, lotus, etc.). And foods (because who can forget food!!??) that are appropriate for Ostara are edible flowers, breads, chocolates, nuts, fish, asparagus, and other fresh/seasonal foods.

Remember, this is a time to be happy and plant/cultivate the seeds of your life for the rest of the year. Let the child with out for some play time!

Blessed Ostara Everyone!

Another day, Another card!!

Our Beautiful card for today is The Dream Walker! Another favorite!! I can tell that I've been needing these cards, as all my fav's have been surfacing this week as a subtle, much needed reminder... Anywho!

The Dream Walker is a multi-faceted card, and it's meaning can encompass many areas of life. First and foremost, she reminds us that dreams really do come true! On that same note, she also begs us to remember that there are to types of dreams: those of the small self and those of the divine. Each individual soul and spirit has a dream of it's own, all you must do is ask for it to be revealed to you and it will begin to unfold like magic. It may not always be apparent at first, but that is the way of magic, is it not?
The Dream Walker can also come to us to help guide us through illusion and fantasy to find our way to truth and celebrating the waking manifestation of your unique and individual dream and path.
Remember, the most beautiful dream is one that serves the beauty of your life, as well as the highest good for others too. =)

Many Blessings My Dears!

Happy St. Patricks Day! Here is your Oracle!

Another happy card today! The Winged Wise Ones come to visit, a card that is always an ally, never a challenger!

This card represents the aid of the angels (or spirit guides, totems, whatever you wish to call them). When the wise ones appear, we know that our prayers are being heard and answered (in the way the divine sees fit, of course) and we're reminded that magic and miracles can and do happen!

Whatever your circumstances, have faith and live knowing that we are being watched over and protected. The wise ones will offer you a glimpse of your future, or the right path to take if, or the answer to whatever you need if you will open up your heart and mind- listening for the subtle words or feeling, in whatever form they come. (Birds often signify and represent the arrival of a message... just food for thought!)

Be aware of your higher consciousness. Now is a good time for meditation and self reflection (kind of goes with yesterdays card, doesn't it? =) ) Remember that what you think can and will come to fruition, so remain in the positive, never the negative!

Today's Oracle...

Our card for the day comes to us as The Lady of the Mirror. Again, this is Wisdom of the Hidden Realms Oracle Cards: A 44-Card Deck and Guidebook by Colette Baron-Reid.

This is one of my favorite cards in this deck. Release all judgement and see things only in love.

Blessings to you all!

Something new- Oracle of the Day!

My oracle cards have been calling to me over the past few weeks, and now that I'm back and finally able to maintain my blog again, I figured I would do Oracle of the Day instead of Tarot of the Day for a while! =)

Today's cards come from the Wisdom of the Hidden Realms Oracle Cards: A 44-Card Deck and Guidebook by Colette Baron-Reid.

The Keeper of the Scales had made her appearance for today and she comes as an Ally.

When she comes to us, it is a sign that the Law of Harmony is enacted. Should be chose to align with her, and make the conscious choice to create balance in your life, you also magically align with the abundance of the Earth.  Harmony begins with the self then resonates outwards to others. You are in harmony with yourself when you are nurturing yourself with love, respect, acceptance, and taking full responsibility of your actions. When this is done, you can then be in harmony with others.

Another way of looking at this card is the resolution of legal matters and/or disputes while maintaining fairness and order.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I'm back... again.

Well, despite me dearest hopes, maintaining my blog while in California ended up not panning out. Why you might ask? Because the location I was at, while beautiful has shotty Internet on it's best days, and none to speak of during storms, much less tsunami's. But, I have returned once again, and, so long as no one else gets deathly ill or passes on, I plan on remaining at home for a good long while. Keep checking back, as I will be continuing to document my adventures in New Mexico as well as the new ones from Cali, and I have pictures to add this go round!
Missed you all,
Brightest Blessings!

My oh my... what a mind!

I went to go lay down and take a nap while Jae was napping, and discovered that my mind is absolutely refusing to shut the hell up. So, now I'm here, hoping that writing will help me take a load off.

Last week was was weird on many counts, but as the trip was made due to my grandmother, I suppose I should start there...
I haven't seen my grandma in, roughly, 19 years, and have only spoken to her once, shortly after my daughter was born. She lived very much like a nomad, surviving off little income and the land; moving to new places frequently. It seemed like she always had to be mad at someone, and more often than not, took that anger out on her children- unless they had something to offer of course. She was bipolar and, in my opinion, suffered from borderline personality disorder. I remember, during the time that she lived with us, her having wonderful lucid moments where she was a "real grandma". Playing with me, and, more specifically, letting me ply with her auto harp. I was never very good at it, with my clumsy 7 year old fingers, but she was amazingly skilled, especially for a self taught player.  Then there were her "bad days" which seemed to outnumber the good. This was when she lost her temper easily, and you never knew what would set her over the edge. When my mom confronted her about doing her part in household upkeep, my grandma got blazing mad and moved out. That was the last I saw of her.

In going through her things as we cleaned out her trailer, I can say that not much changed for her. She had learned how to use her words like a knife, and keep herself composed instead of flying off the handle. True to form, she kept meticulous files on everything in her life (including her ex-husbands- LOL!), as well as the handwritten drafts of numerous letters she had written over the years. Through those letters and the medical files we found, we were able to piece together that she was originally told back in 2007 that she had a heart condition that needed monitoring. In particular, it was an irregular arrhythmia. She basically told the doctor that he was wrong. Now, back in May of 2010 she was told again that she had this condition and in the letter from the doctor, he specifically stated that people can drop dead from this at any moment without proper monitoring and medication. Now, I'm not a huge medication activist or anything, but a heart condition is a serious thing... So, with this letter from the doctor, we found my grandma's response- in which she called him an ass hole and said that 90% of the time she was the smartest person in the room and could take care of herself. Yup, that's the grandma I remember. Then, what do you know, just like the doctor warned her about, she literly dropped dead five months later.

We spent a whole day cleaning out her trailer, then tended to settling everything with the funeral home and ordered her a headstone. She was cremated and buried in the state graveyard and, despite the desolate feeling of the graveyard, she has an amazing view. My mom, grandfather, and I drank to her memory, and poured wine over her grave for libation. I buried a blue candle for peace into her grave, along with a beautiful stone (sodalite) and a letter I had written to her the night before.  As we toasted her one last time for her brother and sister, who could not be present and I covered my letter, there was a sudden  gust of wind which cause a dust devil right over her grave then immediately dissipated. It's been dubbed the "wind hug" by mom and I.

There was little value, if any, in the few things that we took from her trailer and kept. But, it is done with and my grandma, I believe, is finally at peace.

I have returned!

Well, after four 12 hour drives, a few days of cleaning up the estate, and being detained in Denver for an extra 3 days due to weather, I have finally made it back home! A LOT of stuff happened on this trip... to avoid confusion, I will do separate posts for each topic (otherwise it will make little sens and be super jumbled).

Glad to be back with my blog again! I missed it lots, and did a lot of free writing to make up for it.

On the downside, my step-dad's father (isn' t doing very well, and it looks like Jaelynn and I will be leaving on Saturday for another week so we can  see him again before he passes. K, ya'll, I'm tired of death and could really use a break! Enough moaning though... It must be done!

Many Blessings my dears!
